"This intro keyboard is so much fun! Personally one of my favorites on this list. The Cat Meow sound effect option is actually really cool musically, but it also comes with basic keyboard sounds and a mic your child can sing with.

"I’ve never tried this piano myself, but the videos look solid, and I like that it comes with some color coded sheet music for our 3-5 year olds to try to “read” and play some music.

"Harmonicas are great ear training because they are ALWAYS in key. Even babies can learn to blow in and out to make sound using a harmonica. They are 100% a must have!

Hohner Kids
Hohner Kids Maraca
$9.99

"These are 100% the most durable and safest baby macacas on the market. I also recommend them because they are unintentionally the best drumsticks for a toddler as well. I am not a fan of wooden drum sticks. They make me nervous with young kids. These maracas are much safer for our little drummers, so buy a couple sets of these no matter what just so you have safe drum sticks for your kids (which you can also use to knock woodblocks too)

"These only come in sets of 4, but they are the ONLY tambourine I ever use. The metal pieces that jingle are safely enclosed IN the tambourine shell.

Loog
Loog Mini Acoustic Guitar
Ramblin’ D. rated:
Can't live without
"Six strings are too many for a toddler to navigate, which makes these 3 string Loogs much more reasonable for a 3-5 year old child to start playing and developing some finger dexterity. (Note - I always recommend drums, piano, and singing/dancing first for children until they are clearly able to focus and practice guitar somewhat properly. Guitar is a REALLY hard instrument for young children to start on.)

Mahalo
Mahalo Rainbow Ukulele

"Ukuleles are supposed to be small, which is why even a $40 ukulele sounds ok. Do not buy a cheap small “guitar.” They never sound good. This $40 ukulele uses soft nylon strings and will actually hold tune and sound good if someone who knows how to play wants to play it.

"These are the drums we use in class. This three piece set of 10, 8 and 6 inch drums is very compact and easy to store. They come with my favorite kids mallets as well, which are the safest I’ve found for our little drummers.
