The Body After Baby: Making Peace With the Person in the Mirror

About this event:

Having a baby changes your body. But sometimes, the hardest part isn't the physical changes themselves. It's the way those changes make you feel about yourself.

The unfamiliar reflection in the mirror. The clothes that don't fit quite the same. The constant comparison to your pre-baby body. The pressure to bounce back, even when you're still figuring out who you are in this new chapter of motherhood.

And while we're often told to appreciate everything our bodies have accomplished, that doesn't mean we automatically feel comfortable in them.

Join Auggie for an honest, compassionate conversation about postpartum body image, confidence, identity, and the complicated relationship so many mothers have with their changing bodies.

Together, we'll explore why body image can feel particularly challenging after motherhood, how hormones and physical recovery influence the way we feel, and why the pressure to look like our old selves can make it harder to embrace who we're becoming.

We'll talk about comparison, self-criticism, intimacy, the influence of social media, and what it actually means to build a healthier relationship with your body. We'll also explore how to support your physical and emotional well-being without turning recovery into another thing you have to get right.

Featuring Erica Djossa, therapist and founder of Momwell; Iskra Lawrence, model and body acceptance advocate; and Dr. Banafsheh Bayati, board-certified OB/GYN and Medical Co-Founder of Perelel, and moderated by Tina Cartwright, founder of Rebranding Motherhood, this conversation is about finding compassion for yourself in a season of enormous change.

Because making peace with your body doesn't mean loving every inch of it every day. It means recognizing that your worth has never been determined by the number on a scale, the size of your jeans, or how quickly you return to who you were before.

Expect an honest, reassuring, and deeply validating conversation that reminds mothers they're not alone in how they feel.
